Ethiopian opal (October birthstone) is a hydrophane stone. This means the stone can absorb and lose liquids. Do not let the stone get wet and allow all personal care products to dry completely before the stone comes into contact with the skin. In case of accidental contact with water: dry the stone thoroughly and let it air dry under natural conditions, not in bright sunlight.
