Ethiopian opal (October birthstone) is a hydrophane stone. This means the stone can absorb and lose liquids. Do not let the stone get wet and let all body care products dry thoroughly before the stone comes into contact with the skin. In case of accidental contact with water: dry the stone well and let it dry further under natural conditions, not in direct sunlight.
